Sunday the day of rest.....Actually today I must play catch up. Paperwork, order lists, blog...etc, etc.

Drip coffees we will be serving this week: (In no particular order)
Mexico Tres Oros, Velocity Blend, Costa Rica Monte Crisol, Ethiopia Yirgacheffe, Timor Maubesse (dark roast), Guatemala Huehuetenago, and Papua New Guinea (dark).

Featured Espresso Based Drinks this week:
Pumpkin Spice Lattes
Nuttella Orange Macchiato or Latte

So, Monday is Tim's roasting day, and here is what I ordered for this week: Espresso Vera, Datera, and Pacific Rampage. Pac Ram is a dark roast blend for the customers who just can't step away from the dark! The Datera Sweet Yellow has been a great seller, I have folks who buy 4 bags at a time! I wanted to serve it, but it sold out before I got a chance! This time I plan to serve some!

Last week was a whirlwind or activity business wise. The Starbucks was closed so we had double the number of customers. Out of all those new folks trying us out I have seen a few return after the green monster opened back up on Saturday. I expect after they all use their $5 gift cards many will come back to us. There were a few who said they didn't care where they got their coffee when I asked if they would come back. Oddly enough most were men who said stuff like that.

I did hear a lot of people say that they never knew we were there, and they were happy to see an independent here. I hope they meant what they said, and that they will return to us, time will tell.

Hey happy Saturday! It is a beautiful day. So, our first full week as Bjava Coffee and Tea, yes well I am still spending money! Ha! That's what you do when you go into business!

Great news, the Starbucks across the way is going to be closed for a couple of days next week!
The bad part of that is they are putting in a drive-thru! Well, they can keep the lazy folk who can't get out of their cars for a kind word and a great cup!
At least on the days they are closed I can serve up some fantastic coffee, and win over some of their regulars!

Tim, the roaster and kind sole who sold me this shop, opened for me today. He sold a ton of coffee beans! That is good for both of us of course, it means I will be ordering a lot of coffee next week.

Barista Brian is playing in a softball tournament today. I hope they have fun!

So, here I am listening to erin mckeown on my laptop, and planning my next week. If anyone wants to stop by I will be working Saturday afternoons for the rest of the semester. Brian has an afternoon art class on Saturdays.

Well, Friday September 1, 2006, we began operations as Bjava Coffee and Tea. Not much has changed from the coffee shop being Stanton Coffee, and not much will change at least for the rest of this year.
I will continue to flavor coffee beans for those who want it, I will continue to have the single shot foamy latte known as a capppuccino, and I will continue to serve a dark roast and a mild each day for customers to choose from for drip. (These things are expected by the current customers.)
The changes that will occur are, I will offer for in house consumption, a traditional cappuccino, espresso, and macciato served in the proper cups.
I will offer press coffees of single origin lighter roasts, such as, Stanton's
Brazil Daterra Sweet Yellow Bourbon.
